Mazda is positioning the 2024 CX-90 three-row SUV to be the flagship ride in its lineup and, following its late January debut, now has unveiled further details on trims and pricing. The brand-new SUV will feature 11 trims across three variants and start at $40,970 (all pricing includes $1,375 destination).

The base CX-90 Turbo’s Select offers a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, seating for up to eight occupants, an eight-speaker audio system and push-button start. The Preferred trim gets second-row captain’s chairs, armrests and a center walkthrough, a power moonroof, leather seating and heated front seats. Preferred Plus models get three selectable drive modes, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities and a wireless phone charging pad for front-seat occupants. The Premium comes with 21-inch alloy wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, chrome exterior accents and a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system. The Premium Plus includes an all-new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Nappa leather seats, a 360-degree camera system, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.

The Turbo S is the performance-focused member of the lineup, and it comes in three of the above variants: base, Premium and Premium Plus. The base takes the Turbo Premium and adds the 12.3-inch display, a digital 12.3-inch instrument panel, body-colored wheel arch molding, 21-inch alloy wheels, an adaptive front lighting system and an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat. The Premium adds a driver personalization system that scans the driver’s facial features via camera and can store settings. Finally, the line-topping Premium Plus is only available in six-occupant configuration and adds interior touches including ventilated front and rear seats.

In addition to the Turbo variants, the CX-90 also comes as a plug-in hybrid — the company’s first PHEV offering for the U.S. market. The PHEV adds an EV drive mode for limited trips on all-electric power, and it will come in Preferred, Premium and Premium Plus guises. Premium models add a 1500-watt outlet in the rear that allows owners to power appliances and other equipment.

Performance for the CX-90 comes from two engines. The standard Turbo uses a 280-horsepower, turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-six with mild-hybrid technology; in the Turbo S model, the powertrain makes up to 340 hp. The CX-90 PHEV swaps the six-cylinder out for a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that’s paired with an electric motor and a 17.8-kilowatt-hour battery to produce a combined system output of 323 hp. An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are standard across the entire lineup. Mazda says the Turbo S achieves 23/28/24 mpg city/highway/combined and the Turbo a slightly better 24/28/25 mpg, but official EPA figures for all three variants are pending.

The Mazda CX-90 is available to pre-order now and will be making its way to dealerships this spring. Full pricing (including the $1,375 destination charge) is below.
